description: Eco-friendly yoga and meditation retreat centre located on Clare Island,a small island off the West coast of Ireland. Very peaceful location with stunning views over Clew Bay and Croagh Patrick, Ireland's sacred mountain.

accommodation; The accommodation is in a renovated island cottage and its modern extension, and the 50 sqm yoga studio is in a modern timber building nearby. Solar water heaters and wood burning stoves for space heating. The menus are vegetarian and completely organic, and as much as possible comes from the centre's own garden and polytunnel. The centre offers various courses for all levels with resident and visiting teachers throughout the summer. Shorter courses in vegetarian cooking, organic gardening, and a variety of traditional crafts are also available at various times.

Off season, the centre is open for individual and group retreats, and offers self catering accommodation and organic vegetarian guesthouse. It may also be rented for groups of 5 to 14 people. We welcome helpers and woofers all year round.

location: Clare Island lies off the west coast of Ireland at at the entrance to Clew Bay. The largest of the off-shore Mayo islands, it has a varied terrain: spectacular cliffs with large numbers of nesting sea birds and a rich 'inland' topography of hills and bogs and small pockets of woodland, making it ideal for hill-walking.

The island lies roughly four miles off the nearest mainland point and the ferry crossing takes approximately 20 minutes. The current permanent population of 140 increases substantially during the summer when there is a steady tourist season. The island has a number of B&B's, one hotel with a bar and one shop which is also the post office.
